Winter On The Bulkley River Houston British Columbia (Pictures)

As many might notice, the Bulkley River is one of my favorite places in and around Houston, British Columbia to be. No matter what part of the Bulkley river I visit, it is always a peaceful place to sit and just watch the river flow by, and usually a bunch of the bald eagles sitting in the old cottonwood trees waiting for a bite to eat from the open areas on the frozen river.

Seems lately in approximately a mile stretch of the river, dozens of eagles decorate the trees.

So the other day my wife, our dog Peanut and I made another visit to the Bulkley River as the beavers had dammed up the river in a couple of different spots.

Looking at the beavers dam, when frozen makes one think of how hard it must be for the many critters that fight their way through winter just to survive and bring their young into the world.

  1. Do you know if the road is open all the way to Morice Lake? I am planning on heading out next week around April 19th. Also, is the lake free of ice this time of the year? Thanks! Kevin in Terrace, BC
